View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif ) (Forgive the romanization, I promised previously to be extremely anal about it. I say not "really" because you can choose Eddy Gordo over Christie (Right Punch) and fight with all of HER moves, but still have Eddy's win stances. View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif Maybe it's some oddball Japanese standard. I'm also wondering what 525p is, I hadn't heard of that standard before, just 540. Anyone know of a component to VGA transcoder? View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif (I've seen them go the other way) Apparently the antialiasing options make more of a difference in progressive mode. I don't have an HDTV, so I can't tell you what it looks like. There's also the ability to play the game in 525p mode, if you have an HDTV. Not really sure what else you could use that for. Pretty interesting, if you do something accidentally you can look it up in the moves list, I guess. If you hit "select" during a match, you'll turn on this little display that shows you the name of every move you do. One thing that's recurrent in all modes is the odd little move display. (Hey, I like training in slow motion, it rules.) Practice mode, you can choose your characters just as in the other modes, and where to fight, and what the opponent does.

Does NOT go through the full move list, though, just a brief sample. There's timer to show you how long you've taken, et cetera. Similar to training in Virtua Fighter 4, it gives you a move or combo to pull off, you do it. Haven't played this one all the way through yet, don't know if it does anything for you. Once you get used to that, it's a bit easier to maneuver than in the previous version. With this one, when you change direction, the camera moves as well, and right is always forward, left always back. Seems like more fun than the same thing on 3, probably partly because of the varying camera that you didn't have on 3. A lot of them have really odd names, too, try to pay attention. However, there can often be quite a few more than two enemies on screen this time. Quite similar to Tekken Force mode on Tekken 3, the direct predecessor to this game. (And it sounds damn good) Maybe I just have to beat Force mode to unlock the ability to play the old music, I don't know.įorce Mode. All the music for the game is not apparently selectable in theatre mode, though, as in the Statue stage it appears to randomly select music from Tekken 2, maybe 3. (Not to say that it's bad, but not up to the level of the intro.) Beating story mode or arcade unlocks the additional characters, beating story mode also gets you the ability to watch the epilogue/prologue from the Theatre mode menu. The CGI is more or less identical to the in game characters, with some motion blur and whatnot thrown in. The epilogue can start BEFORE the last fight for a few characters, because their fight is part of the storyline, whereas many people simply fight through the tournament and then get a somewhat unrelated ending. In story battle it's pretty much the same as arcade, except that there's a nice prologue, and a little epilogue before you get the CGI ending. There's a choice between arcade/time attack (oddly on the same selection) and Story battle. (Steve's f+1 hits mid, which apparently doesn't in the arcade, haven't checked) Also someone else reported doing a combo that they couldn't do in the arcade, but that could just be a controller issue. I never had the chance to get into it in the arcade as much as the previous versions, but I've heard grumblings that they've gone back to some earlier versions for some of the moves.

Regardless, all you jaggie whiners can shut the hell up, cause they're not there for you to whine about.
Tekken 4 miharu tv#
(Well, you can only get so much detail on a Kanji on a TV screen) The Sharp mode makes the text a bit clearer, but flickery, whereas soft makes the text very stable but a tad blurry. I've not noticed a speed hit between the two, and I'm still not sure which I prefer. There's an option on the Display menu for "Sharp" or "Soft" visuals, basically, you can turn the antialiasing on and off. Just picked this up Friday (bastards, was supposed to be here Wednesday or Thursay)
